Kleinschmidt announces opening of Halifax office

Kleinschmidt Associates recently announced the opening of a new office in Nova Scotia. Kleinschmidt has been doing business in Canada as Kleinschmidt Associates Canada, Inc., since 2014 and has provided hydropower consulting services in the region since 1985. The new office is located at 76 Temple Terrace in Lower Sackville just outside Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Kleinschmidt’s President/CEO Charles Padera stated, “Our Nova Scotia office enables Kleinschmidt to respond promptly to our Canadian clients and to expand our services to Canada’s power industry. With our Peterborough office in Ontario that opened earlier this year, Kleinschmidt will continue providing services related to energy, water, and the environment that our clients in the Maritimes have trusted since 1985.”

Padera added that in 2015, Kleinschmidt welcomed Jane E. Pagel to Kleinschmidt’s Board of Directors. A graduate of the University of Toronto, Ms. Pagel has been a leader in Canada’s environmental, engineering, energy, cleantech and sustainability organizations throughout her career.

Kleinschmidt Associates Canada is a Canadian corporation that is a wholly owned subsidiary of Kleinschmidt Associates. Kleinschmidt established Kleinschmidt-Canada after several years of supporting projects from its offices in the United States. Since 1985, Kleinschmidt has completed more than 56 projects in Canada ranging from hydroelectric design, penstock inspection and replacement, generating station condition assessments, dam safety inspections, and fisheries studies for fish passage and mitigation plans under the provincial Endangered Species Act (ESA).
