Scott Ault

Chief Technical and Operations Officer

Scott is a member of the executive leadership and is the firm’s leader of technical talent who oversees all operations related to project delivery. Scott ensures that Kleinschmidt’s engineering, science, and regulatory talents are suitably trained, right-sized based on the project workload, and are visible in our industry as experts in their field. Scott facilitates the publication of professional papers, evaluates technology for use at the firm, and oversees the development and marketing of intellectual property. Duties also include business development, market diversification, thought leadership, and quality control.  

Professional Experience:

Scott has been involved in firm management at Kleinschmidt since 2002 while also serving as a senior fisheries scientist with more than 35 years of experience. Throughout his career, Scott has worked in most major drainages in the U.S. on projects relating to the impact of hydroelectric operation on fish and wildlife, fishway design, and the development of basin wide restoration and management plans.  American eel, bull trout, and lake sturgeon have been species of particular interest for Scott.      


Scott earned his B.S. in Biology from Millersville University, Pennsylvania
