Why did you select your current profession?

I have always had a love for math and science, especially math. Between math and watching my dad construct additions on our home and do his carpentry work when I was young, my interest grew for how structures are designed and how and why different things work. In high school, I knew I wanted to study engineering and originally thought I would pursue chemical engineering (as I was doing very well in my advanced chemistry class), but after going to an engineering camp at the University of Maine, I knew structural engineering was the career for me.
