Associate Licensing Coordinator

Kayla specializes in developing documents associated with the licensing of hydropower projects under the jurisdiction of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and license compliance. She composes state permit applications for hydropower projects, prepares scientifically valid reports and other materials that present findings, identify effects, and make recommendations pertaining to the effects and mitigation of land and water development activities on fish, wildlife, and threatened and endangered species.

Education: B.S. Wildlife Ecology, University of Maine

Do you have a hidden talent?    

I can play the drums and have played percussion since I was 10 years old.

If you had one extra hour of free time a day, how would you use it?      

I would sit down and either paint or draw.

Who is your role model?              

My grandfather, who taught me his love for science and gave me his passion for finding out how things work.

What is something you have always wanted to do?        

I have always wanted to travel India: I would love to spend time learning about the culture and species there.
