Wetland Delineations

Wetland Delineations

Wetlands are important features in the landscape that provide numerous beneficial functions for fish, wildlife and people. Some of these functions include protecting and improving water quality, providing fish and wildlife habitats, storing floodwaters, and maintaining surface water flow during dry periods.

Our Wetland Scientists provide a wide range of services, including wetland delineation, functional assessments, and impact assessments. In situations where direct impacts cannot be avoided our scientists are experienced in wetland restoration, enhancement and creation as mitigation. Our scientists work regularly with both the federal NEPA process, as well as state permitting processes. Our wetland specialists actively participate in professional wetland organizations and have received training in soil science as well as wetland classification, identification, and inventory.

Through our technical skills and regulatory experience, our clients have achieved cost-effective solutions for resolving wetland impact issues. Our experience in wetlands-related work typically involves collecting and compiling data on wetland plant communities, soils, aquatic & terrestrial wildlife habitat, and hydrology. Our team is multidisciplinary and familiar with recent advances in GPS and GIS technology. Kleinschmidt scientists are comfortable working with precision GPS equipment to map identified resources and our products typically integrate GIS-generated maps using the latest technology.
