Michael is a geotechnical engineer specializing in water infrastructure projects, with experience in design and project management. Project work has included impoundments, conveyance systems, treatment facilities, and marine facilities. His geotechnical expertise includes planning and leading geotechnical exploration programs, dam and levee design, seismic hazard evaluations, ground improvement design, large wall and pile design, slope stability and seepage evaluations, and geotechnical support during construction. His management experience includes leading multi-disciplinary teams to deliver their best work. A majority of Michael’s experience is in the Pacific Northwest and Hawaii, but also includes California, Texas, the East Coast, with international work in Central America, the Caribbean, and Africa.

Michael has a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo and a M.S. in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Geotechnical Engineering, from Oregon State University. He is licensed as a professional civil engineer in Alaska, California, Hawaii, Oregon and Washington. He is also a professional geotechnical engineer in Oregon.
