Innovating with Advanced Technologies

Kleinschmidt’s Emergent software uses Agent-Based Models to simulate complex systems, like fish schooling. This allows fish passage designs to be tested virtually before construction, ensuring optimal design for entire species movements, not just individuals.

Our telemetry analysis tool, MAST, has been upgraded into a faster, scalable platform. It now supports major river research in collaboration with the USGS. Meanwhile, Stryke, funded by EPRI, underwent extensive validation and documentation to enhance entrainment analysis.

These advancements demonstrate our dedication to pioneering environmental and engineering solutions. Want to learn more? Contact Kevin Nebiolo

Harnessing AI to Elevate H&H Modeling

This year, the H&H Section has fully embraced the power of AI, transforming how we approach modeling tasks. Large language models (LLMs) like ChatGPT have proven invaluable for research and coding, streamlining workflows, and boosting efficiency.

From writing Python scripts to automate batch simulations, data input, and output retrieval to maintaining tools like McBreach software, LLMs have significantly reduced the time spent on trial-and-error coding. Chatbots have also been instrumental in quickly accessing guidance manuals, best practices, and insights into hydraulic model interpretations.

AI has even supported our HEC-RAS training classes by aiding in content development. With ongoing advancements in AI and automation across the industry, we’re excited to continue exploring innovative tools to improve our processes and deliver exceptional results.
