Dana Postlewait is a civil engineer with 41 years of water resource specific experience specializing in the planning, design and construction of upstream and downstream fish passage systems, fish hatcheries, hydropower, and general civil engineering projects. He is experienced in hatchery work ranging from specific facility or component retrofits, improvements, or expansion, to initial planning and new hatchery and satellite facility design. Fisheries experience includes fish hatchery and production facilities, fish passage and protection facilities, habitat projects, and specialized fish sampling and monitoring facilities. Fish passage experience includes projects associated with hydropower, water supply and storage, flood control, and groundwater recharge dams and associated intake facilities. He managed and held lead engineer roles on jobs spanning the entire project cycle from planning, site selection and preliminary design to the preparation of contract plans, specifications, and construction cost estimates.

He is a member of the American Fisheries Society and is currently serving on the ExCom of the Bioengineering Section as Immediate Past-President. As a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, he is active in the Joint Committee on Fisheries Engineering and Science within the ASCE Environmental & Water Resources Institute (EWRI).  He is also serving as an Employee Representative on Kleinschmidt’s Board of Directors.  Dana has a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Washington. He has his Professional Engineer License in both Oregon and Washington.
