Eric Turgeon has over 15 years of dam and hydropower-specific experience. He is a Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC)-approved independent consultant for Part 12 dam safety inspections and Potential Failure Mode Analyses and specializes in engineering for projects focused on dam and hydroelectric development, rehabilitation, and inspection. He is experienced in the evaluation and design of structures, including powerhouses, penstocks, trashracks, intakes, spillways, and gates of various types. He has experience inspecting and evaluating dams of various types, including concrete, gravity, buttress, masonry, timber/concrete crib, arch, embankment, and others. As Senior Engineer and Technical Advisor, Eric provides technical guidance and oversight on a variety of projects. He manages and/or performs quality control checks of engineering designs and calculations. He performs FERC and other dam safety inspections. Eric is a SPRAT Level 1 certified rope access technician with experience performing penstock and Tainter gate inspections utilizing industrial rope access climbing and belaying techniques.  Eric has a B.S. in Civil/Environmental Engineering from the University of Maine and is a Licensed Professional Engineer in Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New York, and Kansas. He is an active member of the American Society of Dam Safety Officials (ASDSO), American Concrete Institute (ACI), American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC), and the Structural Engineers Association of Maine (SEAM).
