Jay A. Anders, P.E., serves as a Principal Consultant at Kleinschmidt Associates, bringing more than three decades of experience in electrical engineering, hydropower modernization, and project management. Anders previously held leadership roles at the Tennessee Valley Authority, where he managed the Hydropower Electrical Engineering Department and served as project manager for an $80 million hydro plant automation program. He later advanced to the position of Associate Vice President and Deputy Director of the Hydropower and Hydraulic Structures Department at Black & Veatch, overseeing a team responsible for more than $250 million in capital projects.
Anders expertise spans pumped storage and conventional hydropower facilities, with a strong background in both the technical and managerial aspects of the consulting industry. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Columbia College, a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, and a Master of Science in Engineering Management from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.
A registered professional engineer, U.S. Navy veteran, and Past Chair of the National Hydropower Association Board of Directors, Anders is widely recognized for his leadership and contributions to the hydropower industry.
