“As a regulatory coordinator at Kleinschmidt, I get to work with individuals of all different backgrounds: biology, fisheries, engineering, government agencies, and project owners. I like working here because there is always something to learn, whether it is understanding a new point of view or finding a new solution to a difficult situation.”

Kayla Hopkins has 12 years of regulatory experience and specializes in coordinating activities associated with the licensing of Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) jurisdictional hydropower projects and license compliance. Activities include the following: issue identification; technical writing and editing of milestone documents; document organization and development; meeting facilitation and documentation; and writing, coordinating and QA/QC of technical reports. She is experienced in coordinating the development of federal, state, and municipal permit applications for hydropower-related construction projects and coordinates Low Impact Hydropower Institute Certification Applications.
