Lucas Stiles has over 15 years of hydropower-specific experience and specializes in the design and evaluation of fish passage projects, including dam removals. He is experienced in performing feasibility studies, site inspections, fishway evaluations, conceptual design, final design, costing, agency consultation, construction support, and fishway commissioning. His experience includes steeppass fishways, Denil ladder fishways, pool and weir fishways, vertical slot fishways, fish elevators, natural channel fishways, eel ladders, as well as downstream passage and protection facilities. He also performs engineering design and inspection for a variety of other hydropower structures including dams, powerhouses, flashboards, and inflatable rubber dams

Lucas has his B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Maine and is a Licensed Professional Engineer in Maine, Vermont, and Connecticut. He is an active member of the American Society for Civil Engineers (ASCE) and has served as their Maine Section President, the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC), and the Structural Engineering Association of Maine (SEAM).
