Paul Cyr has over 45 years of hydropower-specific experience and specializes in dam safety and vulnerability-security inspections, design and stability analyses of dams, powerhouse design, floodgate design, construction and maintenance inspections, and specification and contract documents preparation. Since 1988, Paul has been recognized by the FERC as an approved Independent Consultant and potential failure mode analyses (PFMA) Facilitator and has conducted more than 180 Part 12 inspections with 50 projects that included initial PFMAs. Paul also serves on Kleinschmidt’s internal QA/QC team for review of design and constructability of hydroelectric, dam, and fish passage projects.
Paul is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and the Association of State Dam Safety Officials. He holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Northeastern University and is a Licensed Professional Engineer in Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Michigan, North Carolina, New York, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and Wisconsin.
