Dr. Stuart Beck has 42 years of hydropower-specific experience and specializes in performing field, laboratory and numerical studies of hydraulic engineering, watershed hydrology, water quality, and fluvial geomorphologic aspects of projects in the hydroelectric and environmental sectors. He has specialized training and experience in sediment transport and in fisheries enhancement in gravel-bed rivers. Stuart is experienced in the use of hydraulics/hydrology, sediment transport, and water temperature computer models developed by various federal agencies and has performed hydraulics/hydrology and fluvial geomorphologic investigations in support of fisheries related projects throughout the Pacific Northwest.
Stuart obtained his Ph.D. in Hydraulic engineering from the University of Minnesota. He has an M.Sc. In Hydraulic Engineering from the University of Saskatchewan, and a B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from the University of Alberta.
